Gaslamp Pizza Without the Fifth Avenue Wait
Far Corner makes Gaslamp pizza worth a five-block walk. We’re at 410 Tenth Ave, about 10 minutes on foot east of Fifth Avenue, with New York-style pies on dough that ferments for up to three days, a full cocktail bar, and a café that opens at 6AM. Visitors staying in Gaslamp hotels and people who work in the Quarter use us as the easy option when Fifth Avenue has a 45-minute wait.
You still get downtown energy. Just with a table.
The Gaslamp Quarter is 16 blocks of restaurants, rooftops and clubs, and most of them are built for a big night out. We’re built for the rest of the day too. Grab an espresso tonic at 7AM before a meeting, come back for a slice between sessions, and end the night with an Old Fashioned while the Padres play on the TVs. Same room, three different reasons to walk over.
What Gaslamp Quarter Guests Order
- Breakfast and coffee from 6AM. Lattes, cortados, espresso tonic, yogurt and granola, avocado toast and an omelette pizza on the café and breakfast menu. A solid pick if you’re looking for breakfast near the Gaslamp before a convention day.
- Pizza, calzones, salads and wings. The full Far Corner food menu, with gluten-free crust available.
- Cocktails and craft beer. See the drinks menu for cocktails, draughts and wine by the glass.
- Takeout to your hotel. Order through Far Corner online ordering and pick it up on the way back from the ballpark.

Gaslamp Landmarks Within Walking Distance
Most people start their walk at the Gaslamp Quarter sign over Fifth Avenue at L Street. Head east on J Street, pass the Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton House on Island Avenue, and you’re at Tenth Avenue before your group finishes deciding where to eat. Petco Park sits between us and the Quarter, so pregame crowds pass our door heading to the gates.
Further north, guests coming from the Balboa Theatre or Horton Plaza Park on Broadway have about a 15-minute walk. The whole route stays inside the 92101 zip code, and the Gaslamp Quarter trolley station connects to the Park & Market stop near us if you’d rather ride. Our neighbors in the East Village and the Marina District use the same streets.
Gaslamp Bars vs. a Neighborhood Sports Bar
Gaslamp bars are built for nightlife. Far Corner is built for watching the game and eating well. We have two bars, TVs throughout the room and a pool table, and the volume stays at a level where you can hear the person next to you. For Padres home games, game day happy hour runs $4 beers, $6 house wines and $6 wells from two hours before first pitch until two hours after the final out.
On non-game days, daily happy hour runs 3 to 6 PM with $6 draughts, wells and house wines and $8 shareable bites. That’s a better deal than most Fifth Avenue patios, and there’s no velvet rope.

Why Gaslamp Visitors Make the Walk
The dough. We mix high-gluten flour on-site, ferment it 48 to 72 hours, and top it with Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, Grande cheese and Ezzo pepperoni. That process, explained on our pizza process page, gives a crust that’s light, chewy and charred.
Eater San Diego listed Far Corner among its Best New Restaurants, and San Diego Magazine, Locale Magazine and FOX 5/KUSI have covered us too. If anyone in your group avoids gluten, read our guide to gluten-free pizza in San Diego before you order.
