About Our East Village Pizzeria, Café & Sports Bar

A 1912 Brick Building, a Family, and a Pizza Oven
The building at 410 Tenth Ave went up in 1912 and spent its early years as an aircraft parts plant, back when the East Village was a working, blue-collar corner of downtown San Diego. The Senescall family has owned it since the 1980s and watched the neighborhood grow up around it.
When it came time for the building’s next chapter, Max Senescall decided to write it himself. After years cooking in kitchens in New York and San Diego, he came home to open his first restaurant here. Far Corner opened its doors on March 27, 2025, Padres Opening Day, steps from Petco Park.
Three Rooms, Two Bars, One East Village Hangout
We kept the brick, the beams and the bones of the old plant, then gave about 4,000 square feet of it three different moods. A sunny dining room with communal tables and a view of the pizza oven. A lounge with leather chairs for a slower drink. And a main bar with a DJ booth, a pool table and TVs throughout, so every game is on.
It is the sports bar in downtown San Diego where you can still hear your friends, and it works just as well for date night, family dinner or a private event.

Downtown San Diego Pizza, Taken Seriously
Our pizza is California-style, built on a New York-style crust. The dough is mixed in house with high-gluten flour and fermented for 48 to 72 hours, which is what makes it light, crisp and easy to say yes to a second slice.
On top: Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, Grande cheese, Ezzo pepperoni and produce we source or pick out locally. It all comes out of a scratch kitchen.
Coffee at 6 AM, Cocktails and the Game at Night
Most places pick one part of the day. We open at 6 AM with espresso, drip coffee and breakfast from the cafe menu, and the regulars and laptops settle in. By midday it’s slices, salads and sandwiches.
Then happy hour rolls in, the TVs go to the game, and the bar turns out craft cocktails, local draft beer and our Old Fashioned until close. On Padres home games, game day specials run from two hours before first pitch to two hours after the final out.
