Serving East Village Neighbors From 6AM to Last Call

Far Corner is East Village pizza, coffee and cocktails at 410 Tenth Ave, one block-and-change from Petco Park. Doors open at 6AM every day for espresso and breakfast, the pizza oven runs through dinner, and the bar stays open until 10PM Sunday through Thursday and midnight on Friday and Saturday. If you live in one of the towers around Park Blvd or work near the San Diego Central Library, we’re the corner you can walk to three times a day.

That’s the whole idea. One room that works for a quiet cortado at 7AM, a round of $6 draughts at 4PM, and a pie with friends before first pitch.

East Village Landmarks Around the Corner

Petco Park sets the rhythm of this neighborhood. On game days the sidewalks along Tenth Avenue and J Street fill two hours before first pitch, and that’s exactly when our game day pricing kicks in. Fans who spend the afternoon at Park at the Park, the grassy lawn beyond the outfield, and people tailgating near Tailgate Park walk over for a pie and a cold beer before heading in.

On non-game days the East Village belongs to the people who live here. Students from UC San Diego Park & Market and the NewSchool of Architecture & Design, readers leaving the San Diego Central Library on Park Blvd, and dog owners coming off Fault Line Park at 14th and Island all pass within a few blocks of our door. Everything in the 92101 zip code between Park Blvd and 16th Street is an easy walk, and neighbors from the Gaslamp Quarter and Sherman Heights are only a few minutes further.

The Park & Market and 12th & Imperial trolley stations are both close, so friends coming in from elsewhere in the city can skip the parking hunt altogether.

Game Day at an East Village Sports Bar

If you’re searching for bars near Petco Park, here’s what matters: on Padres home game days, Far Corner runs $4 beers, $6 house wines and $6 wells from two hours before first pitch, all game long, and two hours after the final out. The full breakdown is on our Padres game day specials page.

Football season works the same way on the TVs. We put together a guide to watching football at sports bars in downtown San Diego for anyone who wants Sunday plans that don’t involve a drive. Pair a game with our small-batch wings (Buffalo, Sweet Heat or Salt & Pepper) and you’ve covered the afternoon.

Why East Village Residents Keep Coming Back

The pizza is the reason people try us. The dough is the reason they return. We mix high-gluten flour on-site with an indirect method and let every batch ferment for 48 to 72 hours, then top it with Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, Grande cheese, Ezzo pepperoni and locally sourced produce. Read more about how we make our pizza dough.

The press noticed early: Eater San Diego put Far Corner on its Best New Restaurants list, and San Diego Magazine, the San Diego Union-Tribune and Locale Magazine have all covered the opening. For most East Village residents we’re a walk of under ten minutes; from the ballpark it’s about two.
