Golden Hill sits on the southeast edge of Balboa Park. Golden Hill Park, the Balboa Park Golf Course and the Golden Hill Recreation Center are all a few minutes from the restaurants along 25th Street. Head downhill on Broadway, C Street or Market Street and you reach the East Village in a few minutes; Far Corner is on Tenth Avenue just north of Petco Park.

Sherman Heights is even closer. From the Villa Montezuma Museum on K Street or the Sherman Heights Community Center on Island Avenue, the drive is about five minutes, and many residents walk it in 25.
